I would like to see the world as more compassionate place. I believe that there are two ways, which lead to it: seeing the beauty of what is and always trying to do your best in any given situation. I believe that words and images are very powerful and I want my work to bring people comfort, knowledge and laughter.

My name is Ruta Babelyte. I’m an illustrator based in Viborg, Denmark.

My background:

In 2010 I graduated Audiovisual Art studies in Siauliai University, Lithuania. During my studies I was mostly interested in illustration and animation. My graduation project was a short animated film, which to I wrote the story too.

In 2013 I started my personal project “Story Cards”, which brought me to Viborg (Denmark), to the Open Workshop artist residency.

In 2016 I attended Drawing and Visualization course in The Animation Workshop, Viborg.

In 2017 I went to Motion Design course in Kort & Dokumentar skolen in Copenhagen. I graduated with the short animated film “Asking why and what” based on the Tasha’s Eurich article.

In 2017 I made a short movies about danish language “Hør her” and “Gud gik ud”.
