In 2017 I attended Motion Design course in Kort og Dokumentarfilmskolen (Kongens Lyngby, Denmark). We had three weeks for a final project. Inspired by Ted.ed and School of Life, I wanted to make explainer type of animated video based on a real research. I got inspired by organizational psychologist Tacha Eurich’s article “The right way to be introspective (yes, there’s a wrong way)” on I believed that there were valuable insights shared in the article, that I could visualize in animated video and spread further.

Tasha Eurich is an organizational psychologist, researcher and founder of The Eurich Group, which helps leaders and teams improve their effectiveness through greater self-awareness.

I finished 30 seconds of animation during three weeks of the course and I took extra time after the course to finnish the whole 1,5 minute film.  After I finished the final animation, I contacted Tacha Eurich and explained what I did. I am happy she liked my work and shared it on her Facebook page. After this, time to time, I would receive a feedback from people, that they saw the video and it resonated with them.

In 2019 Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) contacted me asking a permission to use “What not why” as a part of the online course on self-awareness. I was happy that the message in the film will reach more people and granted the permission.

The Foundations of Leadership Curriculum is a series of interactive online courses that make fundamental leadership skills and knowledge available to all employees in the RCMP, with the target audience being police officers on frontline. The curriculum outlines are that participants who complete the curriculum will be able to demonstrate RCMP core values while leading themselves and others, and that they will be able to apply the principles of personal leadership.
